Hello, I’m Maria a warm and grounded counsellor based in Sidcup, offering a calm, steady space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgement, at your own pace.
The name Willow Counselling Kent reflects the heart of how I work. Willow trees are known for their resilience, deep roots, and ability to bend without breaking – a quiet strength that mirrors the therapeutic space I aim to offer. My approach is gentle but purposeful: I’m here to walk alongside you, help you make sense of what’s happening in your life, and support you in building clarity, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
Clients often tell me they feel safe, understood, and able to be fully themselves in our sessions. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely met as a person, not a problem to be fixed.

I offer a chance to reflect on the difficulties or problems you are experiencing in a safe and confidential environment, with someone from outside your day-to-day life.
Together we can explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives – and perhaps a new understanding of yourself. Therapy isn’t about giving you solutions or advice, but empowering you to make your own changes.
I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of problems. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics.
I work integratively, drawing from person-centred, attachment-informed, existential, psychodynamic, and CBT approaches. This allows me to support you in exploring both the deeper roots of your experiences and the practical steps that help you move forward
My style is collaborative, reflective, and attuned. I offer a space where you can slow down, understand your emotions more clearly, and begin to reconnect with your needs, values and sense of self.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or simply ready for change, I'm here to offer a calm, steady space to begin that process. You're welcome to reach out for an initial conversation.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues, and I have a particular focus on issues relating to anxiety, stress and self-esteem. Here are a few more common difficulties that can be supported through therapy:

In addition to face-to-face sessions in Sidcup, I also offer online and telephone counselling and psychotherapy to people throughout the UK.
To confirm your appointment, payment is requested 24 hours before your session. This helps us both honour the time we’ve set aside together.
Cancellation Policy
I know that life can shift unexpectedly, and sometimes plans need to change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance so I can offer the space to someone else who may be waiting.
For changes made with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full session fee will still apply.
Thank you for choosing to reach out, it takes real courage to open that door, and you deserve to feel supported every step of the way. I’m here to offer a gentle steady space as you move forward.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how I work, or to arrange an appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right person to help.
You can also call me on 07849 09985 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential.
